(More customer reviews)These were givend to me as a gift. There are no instructions with them so at first i tried to put in triple AAA batteries. Then i finally figured out that they take double A batteries. I have the blue one as well as the red one. The blue is not that bright. Also, being that it's blue you are liable to get a ticket- a flashing blue light is not legal in most states on a bicycle. (If you are walking or jogging at night I believe it is legal. It does have a little clip that attaches to your clothing if you are jogging.) Although admittedly,the cover is blue it does tend to have a dulled redish blue flash.

The red one is ok, nothing great. These are heavier than most flashers than I've seen, probably because they take double AA batteries as opposed to AAA batteries. There are any number of better choices of flashers out there for bikes at about the same price range including some by Planet bike Planet Bike Blinky Safety 1-Led Bicycle Light Set

I also use Planet Bike Beamer 3 LED Bicycle Light with Quick Cam Bracket Mount, illuminte hand and arm warmers(i don't think they are sold on Amazon anymore) and the Down Low Glow for my night rides Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes-Envy(green)
