Nite Ize PIM-03-01 Mini Pock-Its Handy Clip-On Tool and Gear Carrier, Black Review

(More customer reviews)Another in a string of Nite Ize holsters that appear to be dimensionless (no concrete evidence of the physical size posted anywhere online).

Empty dimensions are SIX & 1/2 INCHES tall, 3" W at the back, and 1.25" D, not counting the belt clip that is another 1/2" deep. The pockets taper to a round bottom shaped by the seam, the outermost is 4.25" H and the inner is 5.25" H.

Caveats:
- NOT ENOUGH SPACE.When I put my Leatherman tool (4" H, 1" W, 3/8" D) in the outer (shorter) pocket, then put my paracord-tethered Cree C3 flashlight (3.75" H, 3/4" D round) in the rear pocket, I can no longer remove my Leatherman easily.Very annoying.Surprisingly, what I got it for was said Leatherman tool and a butane lighter (3" H x 1" W x 1/2" D) and with those two inside, the pockets are too deep to reach them comfortably/quickly.
- Between seams, the top of the outer pocket is 3.75" W material, rounded to contour to something being placed in it.The problem is the hook/loop end of the velcro is on THAT part, not the lid, and it spans that whole 3.75".Since the soft part of the velcro on the lid is only 3/4" H x 1.75" W rounded, expect to pick up a LOT of lint on the hook/loop end.
- As with the Pock-Its Plus, it's bigger than it seems in the picture, and not in a useful way.As EDC on a belt it just looks stupid.
- Very simple hook/loop-fastened holster; no rotating belt clip.

Definite pros:
- The material and seams are strong, as always.

Summary:
I don't know if I'd ever end up using this, and unfortunately probably resell it on eBay.

The only problem for me was when I put my leatherman wave in the case it stretched it so much it became too thick and bulky to carry under a normal shirt. Very noticable. If I were out in the woods or fishing this would not be a problem, but just a little too big for edc. Very well made. Strong clip.

(More customer reviews)Love this pouch, I used to carry a pouch for my maglite and a second pouch for my leatherman, plus a sharpie and a pen in my pocket, now I've got all that, a key and 2 more sharpies in the puch and I commonly forget the pouch is on my back hip, plus theres still more room. I was a little cautious on the clip design doubting its superiority to a loop, but theres a belt hugging hook on the bottom that convinced me it's a good design.

(More customer reviews)I am feeling pretty good right now. Why? Because I am about to save hundreds of people the misery of losing their keys, favorite pocket knife, flashlight, thumb drive, etc... I have owned and used both the size 1 and 2 "S-biner"s on my keychain and they consistently (I was going to be ironic and say 'reliably') release/drop whatever is attached to them. I carry my keys in my pocket and have repeatedly found, on the ground, my $50 LED flashlight, 8GB USB drive, house keys, etc. I kept switching what I used the S-biner to hold thinking that it must be good for something because it is so cool. I even switched from size 1 to size 2. Finally after having that sick feeling of finding something I needed or that has value or was brand new on the floor about to be left and lost forever I gave up on this product. I give two stars because these actually are very nice, just not useful outside the safety of your home.
