(More customer reviews)This booklight has revolutionized my night life.I love the Xtra Flex.It takes 3 AAA batteries which makes it much more cost effective, and easy to replace.The light is plenty bright for any reading I've tried to do in a completely dark room.The flexible neck makes it so you can adjust the angle for anything, and it stays in place.The base is sturdy enough for it to balance on a flat surface, so I can set it on my nightstand and use it like a desk lamp.This feature made my life so much easier with a newborn.I set one next to the changing table and I was able to change my daughters diapers in the middle of the night without having to get her really awake by turning on the over head light.Since I could adjust the angle of the light, I could set it directly on her diaper area with no concern for missing spots.I now clip one on to the arm of the glider and face the light outwards so I can read to her at night before I put her to bed. Again, no overhead light helps set the mood for calm and sleep, but the light is direct and bright where I need it on the pages of the book instead of a dim overhead light.We have a couple of these in the house and I would recommend them to anyone! They come in all kinds of colors, not just purple.

(More customer reviews)I bought this item brand new and in hot pink colored (caught my eye). Flashy, small & cool looking! However, it contains 1 LED light which is bright but not wide spread. So when reading it lights up only the center of the page. You will have to constantly reposition it to keep from straining your eyes.The constant bending and reposition will affect the fragile wiring on this thing.About 10-15 uses after buying this product, I noticed a flikering (very annoying).It slowly worsens the more I used it. In fact, I put the thing away and haven't used it again b/c of the annoyance. Thank goodness I didn't pay much for it. Value for the money is about a "7" because you get what you pay for.Spend the money and try something else with more than 1 LED in it. My next bet is finding something with a real light bulb in it or maybe I will just annoy my husband at bed time and read with the lights on :)

Line up the spike with the arm.With your right hand, grab the round section between your thumb and your index finger.Place your index finger on the top round part where the flexible arm attaches, and put your thumb against both the spike and the arm, but not touching the bottom cylinder.This will stop the middle section from rotating.

Now with your left hand, grab the cylinder on either side of the spike.Twist a half turn clockwise.It will unlock and detach in your hand.

If it is spinning 360 degrees, you are doing it wrong.If it is difficult to turn, you are doing it wrong -- you shouldn't have to force it.

It will be easy to put it back in place.Just line up the tabs with the slots, then twist a half turn counter-clockwise to lock back into place.---

Now for my review.The battery pack is confusing and apparently easy to break, given all the complaints about it here.It is not the least bit intuituve, and there is no indication on the packaging of how to do it.This seems like a pretty huge oversight to me.

It is alright as a book light.It is a bit dim, however the light is very smooth and even which is often not the case with LED lights.

The "spike" mechanism for anchoring the light to the book is really nice.The normal method of clipping the light to the cover or some pages always slips off and sometimes even damages the book.This slides right in place, keeping the light where you want it.

I bought this as a gift for someone, but I decided against giving it to them after trying it for myself.Overall, it's just not good enough.

I removed the safety cage because they were falling off anyway and I didn't like the look of them. They run rather hot thought so I warn people not to touch them. (More customer reviews)This product seemed ideal for use with my Kindle.It is very light and the clip works very easily.However, of the two I purchased, one of them didn't work at all (perhaps the two included lithium batteries were dead?), and when I went to use the other one for the first time, the light popped off of the arm.I unscrewed the back (necessary to replace the batteries), put the arm back onto the light, screwed it back on and it popped off again.So - I am returning both of them for a full refund.In addition, the light seemed very dim - there is a single micro LED light and I swear the lights on my micro LED string lights for my Christmas tree are much brighter than the Cyclops light.

Mighty Bright Telescoping LED Clip-on Reader's Light Review

(More customer reviews)This is my second book light from Mighty Bright. I also have a Might Bight Xtra Flex 2-LED Book Light, which I absolutely love!

The Mighty Bright Telescoping Triple LED Book Light is sleek and attractive. It has a telescoping arm that retracts completely so the book light can double as a flashlight. With 3 LED's, this book light is BRIGHT! It is, however, only marginally brighter than the Xtra Flex 2-LED Book Light, which has only 2 LED's. It can be powered with 3 AAA batteries or with an AC adapter (included).

The Mighty Bright Telescoping book light has one shortcoming: the telescoping arm is a tad too short. When the book light is used on a larger book, the light tends to be focused on the middle of both pages rather than diffused over the pages - even with the arm fully extended. This presents a problem especially for the top of the pages where the illumination is the weakest. The focused light can also cause a problem with glare on pages that are glossy or semi-glossy.

The Mighty Bright Telescoping book light is ideal as a free-standing task light but it falls short as a clip-on book light. Overall, it is quite usable, but I would really recommend the Xtra Flex 2-LED Book Light instead. The Xtra Flex Book Light has a long and flexible gooseneck that can be easily positioned to direct the light for a more even illumination.

It turned out to be a very cool design; the head can be spread apart for a more diffused area of light, which is awesome for those who want to read and not have to adjust the light from one page to another. There was one problem though. The features says that the book light have 3 modes: the off mode, a dim light mode, and the brightest light mode. Suddenly, after testing it out THREE times, the book light lost either its dim or brightest light mode (even with new batteries). I say "either" because we did not get a chance to get use to how bright or dim it could be since we only tried it out, but I am leaning towards the lost of bright light mode because now it only turns on (quite dim) and off )=
