(More customer reviews)This is an excellent knife, though a little larger than what I really need for my purposes. I use this knife for general outdoorsmanship (hiking/camping/hunting/fishing) and can't comment on its practicality as a tactical knife. The knife blade is extremely sharp and angled to hold its edge well. The saw is quite functional and can quickly cut through saplings up to 9" in diameter. The blade locks into the handle with a metal pin and feels totally secure and solid with no rattling. The ridge on the spine of the blade is perfect for pressing your thumb against when you need fine control, and a few serrations at the base of the blade function well for cutting quickly through rope (and tendons/ligaments/cartilage). The sheath is made of kydex -- a very durable hardened resin -- with a button retainer and a retractable belt/webbing clip. Both blades measure 4.75" in length, and tip to tail the knife measures 10.25". On my scale, it weighs 9.1 oz (257g) with sheath, 5.8 oz (165g) without. SOG is known for quality knives and this one is no exception.

Sliver Gripper Tweezers Review

Coupled with a magnifying glass, a person can pick the smallest slivers. I am very happy to find a place where I am able to get more. Working as a carpenter and a logger. Burning wood for fuel. I have had my share of slivers. I think many people would love these tweezers. Could be a great gift item.

MAGLITE S2C016 2-C Battery Flashlight, Black Review

(More customer reviews)Once in a while you'll encounter a product that's so far out front that the others should pick up their marbles and go home. Mag-Lites are the standard bearer in the flashlight category. (Were it not for the picture,you would hardly know from the product description up there that we'retalking about a 4-cell flashlight.)
The primary job of a flashlight is,not surprisingly, to create light. Mag gets more light out of theirflashlights than anybody. Maybe it's the bulb, or the reflector. But NOflashlight will come close to putting out as much light as a Mag.
Anotherquality we hope to find in any product is functionality -- does it workevery time, or mainly when you don't need it? I can't recall more than atime or two that a Mag failed to come on. I've dropped them from heightsthat would have destroyed anything less and they still worked.
I have anold black AA-size Mini-Mag here that spent about a decade in the cockpitsof airplanes -- the poorest lighted places this side of the Black Forest --so it got a world of use. The place on the end cap for attaching a lanyardor hanging ring is worn completely through. But the little guy still workslike a charm.
The switch on this D-cell model is under live rubber; ithas a solid click on and off. The beam is adjustible to a sharp spot.You'll probably want to set it there and leave it alone.
I am certainthat batteries last longer in a Mag-lite. The only explanation for thiswould seem to be that a tiny bit of battery drain occurs on some others.Before I became 100% converted to Mags I would too often pick up aflashlight that was full of dead batteries. I can go for years withoutchanging the batteries in a Mag-lite.
All Mags are rugged. The barrelsare sturdy aluminum extrusions -- not plastic or stamped metal. Both endcaps have O rings to keep the case waterproof. And who else would be sothoughtful as to put an extra bulb in the bottom endcap?
A reviewer belowhad a legitimate gripe about tubular things not staying put on anything buta level surface. Of course, that has been a complaint for years about pensand all kinds of tubular devices. This can be cured for the Mag-Lite with avery small bungee cord. Tie several knots in it until it is shortenedenough to fit tight around the barrel. The knots will keep the light fromrolling around.
I like the new hot red Mag-Lites. Anybody with any senseat all would know a pretty red flashlight would throw more light than ablack one. It just stands to reason.

(More customer reviews)Anyone who lives as far out in the rural countryside as I do gets accustomed to power interruptions, whether they are due to downed power lines from ice storms, someone hitting a key telephone pole and knocking out a transformer, or is the result of one of the occasional electrical storms we have during the warmer months of the year. In any and all of these circumstances I can always depend on my collection of mag-lights to see me through the darkness of the house in order to light my well-used candles and oil lamps until the power is finally restored. I also have one in each of my two trucks, and when I recently narrowly missed hitting a startled deer late at night and went off the road into a muddy field, the trusty mag light was invaluable in helping me find a winching point to pull myself out of the muddy gully.
So, in this time of frequent brown-outs and power interruptions, whether it is a venture down into the blackened hole my basement becomes late at night, or finding my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I can always depend on using my mag lights to candle-power my way wherever I am going. I have two of the five battery-sized ones like the one displayed here, but actually also have three or four of the 'smaller' three or four battery sizes as well. I love mine, and although I seem to misplace at least one or two a year, I always have an ample supply of both mag-lights and replacement batteries because I find they are absolutely essential out here in the woods. (More customer reviews)16 ft. at your fingertips. If your a survivalist/pathfinder or in the medical field, $24 is well worth it. Excellent construction, you know why 550 paracord lives up to the hype. It also doesn't look to bad for reg. everyday use IMO.
I suggest getting the 9in. strap as this one is a pretty snug fit. I'd say the 8in or smaller(different brands) would work well for the female enthuasists.

A must have for the adventurous. (plus if you end up having to use it in a sticky situation, this particular company will take your used one & story, and replace it for no charge.(I'd say buyer pays shipping). Doesn't get any better than that.

(More customer reviews)I bought this knife a couple of years ago and enjoyed using it for a while.The blade kept a sharp edge but the serrations on the inner edge would sometimes cut my thumb as I released the lock bar to close the blade.They were like little razor blades.Eventually, the knife jambed open and when I attempted to repair that the knife fell apart and I chucked it.

(More customer reviews)I've had mine for around 6 months. The black anodizing is wearing because I carry it in a pocket with change and keys. It is really sharp and extremely well built. I'd recommend this knife for anybody wishing a device to hold your paper money that also functions as a razor sharp knife that won't accidentally open, and has a foolproof locking mechanism once open. Of the 4 or 5 money clips I've owned, this one holds money the best. It is probably the prettiest thing I've ever carried in my pocket.

(More customer reviews)I had a K.I.S.S. first, but wanted something a step up, with a curved edge. The slight curve on this is perfect for me. I've had my HUG for about a year or so now, and it's wearing beautifully. It's the right size for not getting in the way, but remaining useful.

The one thing that needs to change about this knife is that the plastic piece on the handle goes up too far, making it difficult to open with one hand. Fortunately, plastic is not hard to carve, and I cut off part of what extended up toward the blade after the top fastening screw. Now it's perfect.

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for an LED clip on light that I can use while running at night on the bike paths in our area.Most products that I saw had many reviews about the plastic clips breaking.When I saw this had metal clips, I grabbed it right away.

It is much smaller than I anticipated, about 1 inch wide, 1.5 inches long, and about 1/4 inch thick.The LED's are very bright (it hurts to look into them, and I do not suggest it).At night, I can see details of trees in the woods that are on the other side of the backyard.This is also so light, it is barely noticeable on my hat.
